Leadership
Today, as members graduate, the need for leadership and service experience is the greatest it's ever been. When looking for a job or applying to graduate programs, extracurricular activities that promote leadership, teamwork and service are becoming the norm. To better serve our brothers both during and after their college years, in 2006, Theta Xi committed itself to become the premiere leadership development fraternity in the United States and has initiated a wide range of programs to cultivate and improve the ability of men to lead themselves and their chapters, as well as their communities.

Theta Xi provides many regular leadership development programs on a chapter, district, and national level including those shown below.

All True Men

The All True Men program goes above and beyond the benchmark that Theta Xi is known for by establishing a set of expectations and operations that are only within the reach of the most motivated and determined men. While voluntary for established chapters, all new colonies must achieve this level of proficiency before they are allowed to charter as a traditional chapter. When the colony receives its charter to become a chapter all of Theta Xi will know that they hold themselves to a higher standard. In return Theta Xi Headquarters provide additional programming support to the chapter. Click here for more information on the All True Men program.

Advisor Meetings

Dedicated alumni provide the most accessible form of counseling and support for individual brothers, donate their time to ensuring the continued success of the chapter by providing insight on chapter operations and by mentoring individual brothers.

Headquarters Consultant Visits

Theta Xi Fraternity employs a dedicated staff of professional consultants who travel to chapters and colonies on a regular basis to provide material support and specialized advice to improve operations and raise the standard of excellence for each brother. These men, who are recent college graduates, are chosen from the strongest chapters and colonies around the country for their leadership expertise and ability to lead men to success.

Regional Leadership Retreat

Held once a year, two to three chapters retire to a secluded location to hold a critical review of their operations, as well as setting new goals and developing plans for the upcoming weeks and months and sharing insight on their respective successes. Organized and run by Dr. Phil Barrineau, Theta Xi’s Director of Leadership Development, These retreats are extremely useful for individuals to hear the opinions of others in a supportive environment, where the end result is a more closely-knit brotherhood and a better college experience.

District Leadership Academy

Held each spring, the District Leadership Academy is open to all brothers and associate members. The DLA is hosted by a chapter, with Academy sessions being held on the campus of the host institution. The focus of the District Leadership academy is development of leadership skills, communication skills, and core values of the Fraternity. The District Leadership Academy also provides a chance for brothers to meet brothers from other chapters expanding one’s view of the fraternity as one involving thousands of men spread across the country, not just those few dozen from their own chapter.

Rising Stars Academy

The Rising Stars Academy is held at a resort in rural Missouri in late winter and provides attendees the opportunity to assess and develop their leadership styles and skills in an interactive and experiential setting. Along with new members from across the country, they gather ideas they can take back to strengthen their chapters in recruitment, membership education and overall operations. In addition, their team building skills are enhanced by accomplishing tasks presented on an exciting outdoor leadership challenge course. Theta Xi Foundation pays all costs for one new initiate from each chapter or colony.

Presidents Academy

Presidents Academy is an exciting program for incoming chapter presidents that allows him to improve his personal skills by joining with his peers for a high quality leadership and educational weekend. The program is centered on Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Effective Leaders, a world-renowned book on personal and organizational management techniques, has successfully guided many of America’s leading CEO’s and provides a great base upon which to develop one’s personal skills. Theta Xi Foundation pays all on-site costs for PresidentsAcademy for each chapter or colony President.
